Folio 129: Rochford to Shelburne. He reports two conventions between France and Austria, the reciprocal abolition of the droit d'aubaine and an agreement to return deserters and permit officers to pursue them into each other's countries. Coolness may arise over SanRemo, whose people have appealed to the emperor to make it a fief. Genoa objects, supported by Choiseul. Rochford has pressed for settlement of the East India company's claim [for maintenance of French prisoners of war] but Choiseul says the papers have been mislaid. He has asked for replies about the ships Lively and Jove.
