Folio 126: Desmaretz and Frazer to Shelburne. They send plans of the port and of the soundings down the middle of the channel [missing here]. Changes are shown. French fears of flooding are unjustified and an excuse for delay. The French have operated the sluices at Bergues and Kesleloot so as to deepen the channel. It is important for British interests to demolish the extremities of the jetties nearest the sea.
Date and place: 1766 Nov 10 Dunkirk.
