Folio 67: The king's instructions to Rochford on his appointment as ambassador to France, concerning the delivery of his credentials. He is also instructed to insist on the observance of all treaties, to press for the release of protestants sent to the galleys fortheir faith and for reciprocal treatment for naturalised British in France. He is to watch closely French foreign policy, keep in touch with other ambassadors, in particular that of the Netherlands and report on British traders in France, encouraging them. Advice on relations with other ambassadors. Encloses f.72.
