Folio 8: Lennox to Shelburne. Choiseul fears that Captain Wallace's destination may contradict the agreement to cede the Malouines islands by France to Spain. A vessel has been taken as a smuggler by a British cutter close to Calais. The duke of Grafton has justified this to Durand.
Date and place: 1766 Sept 17 Compiègne.
