Folio 237: Lennox to Richmond. He has warned Choiseul that Britain will issue orders to her West Indies governors to act against French ships, if France delays an answer about the continued application of the Ordinance of 1727 to St. Domingo. Choiseul denied promising the release of the Jove [see f.240]. Sorba is very friendly with Choiseul. There has been a small increase of troops in Corsica under Marbeuf. Bouganville has persuaded Spain to accept the Malouines [Falkland] islands. A French East India ship le Comte d'Artois has been lost on the way to India.
