Description

Folio 219: Lennox to Richmond. According to the Netherlands ambassador, the quarrel between Gallitzin and Choiseul arose from the frequent use, in error, of the words Impériale et Royale in letters from the king of France to the empress of Russia. Also Choiseul haddeciphered letters from Gallitzin, one of which was slighting to France and Choiseul. Gallitzin may be recalled [see f.189]. Choiseul has repeated his position about Geneva.
