Folio 266: Reply to French complaints about Newfoundland [see SP 78/267, ff.125, 181 and SP 78/268, ff.116, 118, 127]. The points raised are dealt with in detail. France does not differentiate between issues arising from trade and fishing within certain limits. There are two islands called Belle-Isle, which may have confused the French. No comment yet on incident in f.3.
