Folio 145: Richmond to Conway. Encloses f.149. The procurator general has not yet given a ruling about the detained children. Mercer has been released without compensation [see SP 78/268, f.246]. He refers to the case of admiral Pye and to the Canada bills. The bailly de Froulay and the Spanish chargé d'affaires, Magallon, said that their governments' representatives in Rome had no order to support the pretender's son. The Maltese ambassador's mother is sister to the so-called earl of Thomond, marshal of France, named Breteuil. Encloses ff.187, 188.
