Folio 115: Lennox to Conway. He reports on the meeting between Praslin and Richmond, who is unwell. Aubeterre [French ambassador in Rome] had tried to persuade the cardinals to give the pretender's son his father's titles. Praslin has told him not to meddle. Francerecognises only one king of Great Britain. Richmond and Choiseul have again disagreed about Dunkirk. Choiseul has complained about Rochford's memorial [see f.65]. The French authorities are delaying over the return of the children. They hope to get d'Eon in view of their return of Rice [see SP 78/268, f.168 and references to Rice in SP 78/265 and 266].
