Folio 256: The chairman of the committee of merchants to Conway. They empower him to agree on their behalf to the following. France is to pay the proprietors 50% on all bills of exchange and certificates and 25% on cards and remaining certificates, with interest of4% per annum. In addition France is to pay the committee 1,500,000 livres tournois as a bonus on the cards and certificates and 1,000,000 livres as indemnification for the securities being under par, this to be distributed among the proprietors. He adds a calculation showing the total thus claimed to be 6,500,000 livres tournois without deductions. An alternative procedure produces a total of 7,500,000 livres.
