Folio 251: Desmaretz, Roy and Frazer to Richmond. They refer to Choiseul's 2nd proposition [see f.168] and recommend demolition of the jetties, particularly of the lower parts. Ramsault accepts this. They disapprove of the 2nd proposition but suggest it could be accepted for the time being, as the use of force is ruled out. As long as the country waters emerge through the channel, the complete demolition of the jetties will not render the port marchand unusable.
