Folio 108: Richmond to Conway. He has had private audiences with the king and queen and members of the royal family and was well received. Afterwards he had talks with Praslin and complained about the delays at Dunkirk. The jetties must be demolished. He pressed the claims of British merchants arising from the Canada bills and Praslin argued the French case. Richmond analysed both sides' offers and points out to Conway that they are virtually the same. Praslin thought that the British government wanted to settle quickly to impress Parliament and he is less sympathetic to the present administration than to the previous one. Richmond then raised the cases of the children taken away to be converted [see ff.64, 66, 82, 84]. He comments on the position of the cuts in the jetties at Dunkirk. The dauphin cannot survive. Encloses ff.116, 118, 127.
