Description

Folio 13: Desmaretz [British engineer at Dunkirk] to Conway. Work on demolitions is at a standstill. Ramsault [French commissary] has no orders to continue the demolition of the jetties. It has been a remarkably dry season. He suggests that the ambassador [the duke of Richmond] goes to Paris via Dunkirk. Desmaretz has refued to sign an account of his recent operations with Ramsault.
