Folio 177: Hume to Conway. Encloses his memorial about Newfoundland [f.181]. Praslin answered the complaints made in f.125. 1) The French concerned were probably smugglers and the concern solely of the British. 2) as above. 3) France is entitled to shelter frigatesin St. Pierre. 4) questions its accuracy. Praslin then complained of offensive letters sent by Palliser.
