Folio 206: Hertford to Halifax. Reports talk with Praslin on Gambia, Acadia and the Canada bills. There are rumours of an intrigue against Choiseul, who is obnoxious to the Queen, the Dauphin and Soubise, but the indolence of the King and Soubise and the absence ofable alternatives may save him. The need for peace would ensure the continuance of his pacific policies. Encloses ff.210, 214, 218, in which the Pope is less reverently named, and he foresees a revolution in France in matters of religion. Refers to the Elector of Bavaria giving the character of ambassador to Monsieur Vaneick. Encloses f.222.
