Description

Folio 152: Halifax to Hertford and Rochford. They are to investigate reports that Spain will cede to France either an island in the gulf of Darien or territory on the isthmus of Panama, with trading privileges, possibly in return for Louisiana, contrary to Articles8 and 9 of the treaty between Britain and Spain at Utrecht.

Date and place: 1765 Feb 12 St James'.
