Folio 142: Halifax to Hertford. Britain will forbid Graves the use of force in Gambia only if France makes no use of violence of any kind and issues orders to this effect to Gorée. He comments on d'Estaing's conduct in persuading French subjects of Britain to leaveNova Scotia, which was done on the orders of Choiseul. Hertford is to protest about the lack of orders to Ramsault about fascinage.
