Folio 90: Hertford to Halifax. The Comte d'Ennery, newly appointed governor of Martinique, has read him his orders for free navigation in the West Indies. These are satisfactory except that St. Domingo is not included. The new governor of Guadeloupe leaves at about the same time. Reports the successful appeal of an English vessel to the Parlement of Paris and encloses ff.92, 94 [see SP 78/264, f.101]. The canton of Schwytz refuses to agree to the return from France of all Swiss soldiers in French service [see f.96]. He has no useful report to make about English trade with France.
