Folio 87: Hertford to Halifax. While shooting with Choiseul, he had discussed the Canada bills, but no progress. D'Estaing claimed that the two ships detained at St. Domingo and Martinique were engaged in contraband. Fascinage for Dunkirk has been promised. Choiseul has explained French policy towards strangers at Dunkirk [see f.25]. Hertford has commended the case of Lady Mary Herbert to Praslin.
