Folio 121: Record of words spoken between Neyon and the Chanouanous Indians, who seek assurance that the French are not combining with the British against them. Neyon replies that France remains their friend and recommends peace with the British. He advises them tobury the hatchet but with the handle sticking out in case of need. The Chanouanous say that the British treat them like slaves or dogs.
