Folio 28a: Desmaretz to Halifax. In reply to f.6, he insists on the demolition of the sluice of Bergues, not of the canal, and on the employment of the Mardyck for draining the country. The person mentioned by Hertford [see SP 78/259, f.182, the Comte d'Hérouville]has a vested interest behind his proposal.
