Folio 63: Stanley to [Pitt]. Spain and Austria are opposed to France making peace. Laritz, secretary to Fuentes, has come from London, presumably to see Grimaldi. Spain is said to have lent France 60 million livres. Stanley has advised Choiseul against a Spanish treaty. Refers to Duval, the jeweller, and to dispute with the parlement of Toulouse about taxes. Encloses edicts relating to the Jesuits [ff.67, 69, 75, 77, 81]. French troops reported moving to the coasts. Berryer, first Commis, has said funds are ready for the 1762 campaign.
