Folio 187: Memorial delivered to Stanley, signed by Choiseul by order of the King. States terms for treaty of peace. Article 1, France cedes Canada in its entirety. Article 2, the above is on 4 conditions, freedom of worship for Roman Catholics, French inhabitants may leave with their possessions if they wish, the boundaries of Canada, Louisiana and Virginia to be clearly defined in the treaty, France retains fishing rights off Newfoundland and retains l'Isle Royale, which she will not fortify. Article 3, France returns Minorca to Britain. Article 4, in consideration of this, Britain is to give back to France Guadeloupe and Marie Galante. Article 5, the Neutral Islands; either all four to be declared neutral and given back to the Caribeans or Dominica and St. Vincent to be given to the Caribeans, Tobago to Britain and St. Lucia to France. Article 6, East Indies; the treaty between Saunders and Godeheu to form the basis of a settlement in Asia. Article 7, France to keep either Senegal or Gorée in order to obtain negroes for her colonies. Article 8, Belle-Isle to be returned to France. Article 9, in return for above, France to withdraw her forces from Hesse, Hanau, Hanover, preceded by a truce in all parts of the world. Article 10, Britain to guarantee that none of the troops in her pay will join with those of Prussia against the Empress Queen and the armies of Soubise and Broglie will withdraw to named positions. Article 11, any conquests made before the drawing up of the treaty to be returned without compensation. Article 12, restitution for prizes taken at sea by Britain before the declaration of war. Article 13, France willing to include in the treaty a guarantee of the succession to the British throne. Article 14, prisoners to be freed without ransoms after ratification.
