Folio 183: Stanley to [Pitt]. Encloses memorial [f.187] and discusses French proposals concerning Newfoundland, Dunkirk and fishing from Cape Breton. He has warned Choiseul not to expect a Spanish alliance to deter Britain from continuing the war. France, if refused any fishing rights and pressed about Dunkirk, will strengthen her continental alliances and seek to lay the final rupture at Britain's door. The King is at St. Hubert.
