Folio 101: Paper submitted by Pitt to the Lords at a meeting at St.James and unanimously agreed by them. He will propose the first days of July, September and November as dates for fixing conquests to be retained, on two conditions. Whatever is agreed between Britain and France must be binding and independent of the Augsburg negotiations. The definitive peace or preliminary articles must be signed before August 1st. Britain will discuss compensation for Belle-Isle and other conquests.
