Folio 192: Accounts by James Montresor, chief in engineer at Gibraltar, of journey through Spain and France. Describes fortifications at Barcelona, Figueras, and near the pass of Bellegarde. Refers to troops in Languedoc and Roussillon, to a protestant assembly at Nimes and intervention by Richelieu, to fortifications at Marseilles, to shipping and fortifications at Toulon and to a report from Avignon of the Young Pretender being put in charge of Corsica. He travelled from Lyons to Paris with a Spanish engineer, who had been a prisoner in Algiers and had been received by the Prince de Conti.
