Folio 247: Albemarle to Holdernesse. Refers to Masones and friendly attitude of Carvajal. France concerned at report of Russian troops on frontiers of Livonia [see f.19]. Has discussed the King's Speech in favour of peace with St. Contest. Mentions inaccuracy in f.209, which Holdernesse has corrected [see f.257]. The King of France has been ill, Broglie [French ambassador to Poland and Saxony] has been recalled from Dresden; Bernis probable successor. Encloses report from Toulon [f.251].
