Folio 198: Albemarle to Holdernesse. Encloses copy of answer about Dunkirk [f.204]. St. Contest refuses to agree to official inspection. The Grande Chambre was exiled to Soissons, because it refused at Pontoise to transact any business except to receive complaints against the clergy, and refused to register the King's Declarations without the whole body of Parliament [see SP 78/247 ff.179, 182]. The King has established a new court [see f.202]. The Court leaves Fontainebleau and goes into recess for about ten days. La Bourdonnais has died, an event favourable to Dupleix.
