Folio 124: Albemarle to Newcastle. France wishes the Palatine claims settled before supporting the election. St. Contest has failed to produce letter said to state that Burrish had indicated that Britain would pay the claim on her. Britain held that Pleystein and compensation for Falkenstein were Wrede's original demands. Wrede would by now be in Hanover. Grevenbrock is weak and untrustworthy. Mirepoix has not yet received instructions about disputes [in America]; he is being advised by La Galissonière. Silhouette is of a devious, jesuitical turn. Encloses packet from Madrid [missing here] and two papers with resolutions of Parliament of Paris and a list of Commissaries of the Inquisition, appointed to take part in the dispute about the schism in the church [ff.129, 131, 133].
Date and place: 1752 May 28/June 8 Paris.
