Folio 52: Newcastle to Albemarle, enclosing a copy of a letter from Mirepoix [?SP 78/243/f.370], his reply and copies of letters to Hyndford, Keith and Holdernesse. Although France has agreed to the King mediating over the claims of the Elector Palatine as detailed in Wrede's statement to Burrish, the King is concerned that St. Contest appears to support new exorbitant claims and that Vergennes has no instructions. Wrede is coming to Hanover. Prussian influence is suspected.
