Folio 206: Albemarle to Holdernesse. He has clarified the British policy on the election of the King of the Romans to St. Contest - namely, that neither unanimity in the Electoral College nor the concurrence of the College of Princes are necessary. The tender age of a Prince is no bar to his election. St. Contest had said that Prussia would not oppose, if approached properly, and he was pleased that the claims of the Elector Palatine would be met. Vergennes is to represent France in Hanover. Talbot is very ill. Aubeterre will succeed him. Encloses naval intelligence [f. 211].
Date and place: 1752 Mar 11/22 Paris.
