Folio 230: Albemarle to Holdernesse. St. Contest has asked St. Germain about the Spanish treaty [see f.178]. Kaunitz has been reserved on the subject. St. Contest has refused the Dutch Ambassador an audience with the King to notify the death of the Prince of Orange. Consequently neither Berkenroode nor Albemarle will attend the festivities [see f.216]. Havrincourt has expressed French concern at the conduct of the King of Sweden towards the Senate.
