Folio 164: Albemarle to Holdernesse. France is uneasy about British negotiations with Spain. She has heard of the treaty [of Aranjuez] from the Venetian ambassador and the Papal Nuncio. Prince Constantin, a king's almoner and brother of the Prince de Montauban, mayreplace Vaulgrenant. Sardinia is supporting Britain. Kaunitz is showing reserve. France is pleased at the death of the Prince of Orange. Durand may become Minister to Holland. Separate.
