Description

Folio 100: Yorke to Holdernesse. He will watch to see if Lord Marshal makes contact with Jacobites. The engraver of heads of the Young Pretender is threatened with prison. Poland is negotiating a loan from France. The `great event' at Versailles [birth of the Duc de Bourgogne] has aroused little enthusiasm in Paris. He encloses a letter from Brest [f.116] and reports the arrival from Jersey of Lieutenant General Huske, en route for England, with information about the port of Granville.
