Description (What the record is about)
-
Folio 236: Albemarle to Bedford. Puyzieulx was unwell. Albemarle had protested in the strongest terms to him about the murder of Captain Howe and the activities of French missionaries. The British memorial [f.24] had been passed to Rouillé, who promised an early reply. Progress was being made on evacuating St. Lucia, but might be delayed pending satisfaction being given over Nevis and St. Barthélemy. Rouillé reiterated France's claim to St. Lucia.
