Folio 217: Bedford to Albemarle. He encloses an extract from a mémoire instructif, handed to Newcastle by Richecourt, being the answer to French anxiety about peace in Northern Europe, and Newcastle's reply [ff.221, 229]. Albemarle is to counter Prussian intrigues and cooperate with Kaunitz. He also encloses a letter from Keith [f.231] about Northern Europe and the King of the Romans and refers to the extraordinary behaviour of the Elector of Cologne. Albemarle is to enquire about French subsidies to German states.
