Folio 182: Albemarle to Bedford. Macnamara's squadron had landed spies in Spanish ports. He encloses a letter from one in Cartagena [f.185], also a letter from Brest [f.189]. A person `of very low station' has arrived from Avignon with letters for friends of the Pretender's son. He is to proceed to England, accompanied by Hoare's son [see f.126]. Albemarle will send someone in disguise to travel with him and have him arrested on landing. He encloses a copy of Remonstrances from Parliament [f.191] to the King, replying to his reproof at the arrest of the curé of St. Etienne. [See f.38].
