Folio 96: Albemarle to Bedford. The Marquis de Prié, Imperial Minister to Venice, is to be ready to leave, pending orders from Cardinal Mellini, who has instructions from the Empire about the Patriarchate of Aquileia. Chavigny has suggested the creation of two bishoprics as a solution. The Pretender's second son, the Cardinal, has mild smallpox. He encloses a copy of the La Bourdonnais judgement [f.98]. His acquittal is popular and Dupleix may be called to account. The Dauphine is rumoured to be pregnant. Puyzieulx is unwell. Kaunitz is somewhat better.
