Folio 261a: Cornwallis to Bedford. Reporting on a clash between British troops and Indians and French inhabitants at Shegnekto: La Corne was involved. Encloses letters exchanged between Lawrence and La Corne [not now attached] and one from Captain Rous. Requests leave, and recommends Lawrence as Lt. Governor. [Extract sent to Albemarle. See SP 78/237/f. 152].
