Folio 3: Letter from an officer with Macnamara's French squadron. The object of the visit is to encourage commerce and capture trade from Britain. The King of Portugal is dying. The Prince and Princess of Brasil hate the British. The squadron is to visit Cadiz, Malaga, Algiers, Tunis and possibly Malta. It will disarm at Toulon at the end of November.
Date and place: 1750 July Lisbon.
