Folio 29: Commissaries to Bedford. All had agreed to submit claims through their respective governments. A copy is enclosed of a claim on behalf of the French sloop St. Jean Baptiste et Marie Louise, held by H M S Grenade. The British had claimed for Snow Boss, [listed in f. 23], burnt off Newfoundland. The French captain being dead and his family poor, only the French government could pay and would only do so on a reciprocal basis.
