Stair's strategic withdrawal back across the Main deprives Noailles of the opportunity to attack; Thompson believes Noailles' army may be weaker than it seems; Austrians have captured Straubing and the siege cannon originally destined to bombard Vienna; decimated units retreat to Ingolstadt; the Emperor has fled to Augsburg and may conclude peace with the Queen of Hungary.
