Speculation as to Belle-Isle's next undertaking; disunity of Allied armies in Bohemia-Bavaria; report that France will allow Spanish troops transit to Antibes, but will not join with Spain in forcing a passage through Savoy and Piedmont; Thompson believes that `vigorous measures' by Britain would induce France to seek a settlement; Spanish fear that France may withdraw from the war and the alliance.
