Description

Folio 281: Thompson to Newcastle. Fleury seems to have recovered; likely successors are Tencin or Belle-Isle; economic weakness might make France inclined to listen to suggestions for a settlement; Crown has borrowed 25 million [livres]; Wasner who has proved a good friend to England, is now going there.
