Folio 62: Thompson to Newcastle. The spy [Castropiñano's Secretary] providing information about Spanish and Sicilian correspondence is disgruntled with his rates of pay; Spain has given a subsidy to Bavaria and is providing uniforms for her troops; Wasner has presented a memorial to France, asking her to try and restrain Spain and Bavaria from attacking Austria, and Sweden from attacking Russia; France has delayed her reply and Wasner hopes for pressure by the Maritime powers and Russia. The spy gives information that France may have assented to transit of Spanish troops; Sicilian ambassador hampered by lack of couriers.
