Folio 318: Report from [?]. The Czarina leaves conduct of state affairs to her husband the Duke of Courland who relies on the advice of Liebman a Jew; the army generally supports Elizabeth, daughter of Peter I; families opposed to the Czarina, have been purged. [Turks and Tartans] have destroyed half the Russian force and the Russian Black Sea fleet is ruined; `money is as rare in Russia as honesty, wisdom or courtesy'.
