Folio 97: Sicilian Abbots to Waldegrave. Philip V is subject to moods when he refuses to utter a word and tries to attack persons who enter his chambers. Elizabeth Farnese's body is so swollen that four maids are necessary to lift her into a chair; decisions are therefore being delayed. Sartini who has the secret support of French ministers obtained permission to visit the Spanish Court but Spanish ministers blocked his going. The reason for delay of the Spanish reply to the British note can be attributed to the indisposition of the King and Queen and will probably be in general terms.
