Folio 222: Waldegrave to Newcastle. Fleury has recovered a fainting fit, while grateful for British sympathy he complained about the bill prohibiting recruitment for the French army in Ireland, believing that this will be used by the Protestants there to deprive Catholics of their estates; Waldegrave reassured him that Dillon would not be affected by this measure. France like Britain opposes La Quadra's assertion that Spain is `master of the American seas', but Fleury seemed dismayed by Waldegrave's threats of declaring war on Spain.
