Folio 233: Waldegrave to Newcastle. Fleury avers that Chauvelin encouraged the Pretender to believe he could expect assistance from France, so as to induce the Pretender to nominate Chauvelin's friends for advancement in the Church; Fleury replies to Waldegrave's criticisms of French diplomats; French suspicion that Spain may be negotiating secretly with Austria; Berg and Jülich.
