Warsaw, Oct. 26: Polish assembly asks that foreign troops be withdrawn from Poland, and many deputies refuse to appoint a Polish Marshal until this is done; Poninski threatens that if necessary the group supporting the Elector of Saxony will make the appointment on their own. Vienna, Oct. 31: petitions of Protestants from Bohemia and Hungary considered. Lisbon, Oct. 13: Dutch squadron liberates Christians enslaved by Arab pirates. Madrid, Nov. 1: bestowal of honours.
